Your Weekend Guide for things to Do in Minneapolis: August 30-September 1

Well, Minneapolis, we’re here: the last weekend of summer 2019.  Before we know it, we’ll be carving pumpkins, taking hayrides, and even breaking out ice skates and sleds to go out for some winter-time fun!  But don’t count summer out quite yet—there are a few more days left before we wave goodbye to those dog days of summer.  Here are a few events happening this weekend in our beautiful Twin Cities Regions:

Friday, August 30
Retro Game Show Night at Can Can Wonderful
St. Paul, MN

Find a babysitter this Friday and head out for a night on the town!  Have you ever watched shows like Let’s Make a Deal, Match Game, Family Feud, $50 Pyramid, or the Price is Right, and thought that you’d like to take a more active role in the proceedings?  Now is your chance!  Every Friday, Can Can Wonderful puts on their Retro Game Show Night.  Contestants have the chance to win fabulous prizes while having a blast.  If sitting back and viewing is more your speed, then get a drink and have some laughs.  All proceeds go directly to the performing artists involved in the show.  For more information, visit the event’s website.

Saturday, August 31
The Current’s Music On-A-Stick Featuring Brandi Carlile at the Grandstand Stage, Minnesota State Fair
St. Paul, MN

Looking for a way to say goodbye to August this Saturday and send it off with a bang?  Wrap-up your Minnesota State Fair experience with a show you’re sure to remember.  Featuring Brandi Carlile, American folk rock singer and Americana legend, it’s sure to be a rocking good night.  And Carlile isn’t the only feature at this amazing show!  Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and Kennedy Center Honoree Mavis Stapes will also be featured, as well as emerging artist and rising star Savannah Conley.  For more information on the show and performers, visit the event’s website today!

Sunday, September 1
Minnesota Renaissance Festival at the Renaissance Festival Site
Shakopee, MN

Summer may be over and September may be here, but there is still time to get out and have some fun before school starts up and we plunge headlong into Autumn.  Head out to Shakopee this weekend to take part in the nation’s largest renaissance festival, right here in our wonderful Twin Cities Region.  Featuring a jousting tournament, artisan booths at the market, food, drink, and other amazing activities, there’s adventure to be had for everyone at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival this September 1st.  Costumes are encouraged but certainly not required.  For more information including driving directions, ticketing, prices, and more, visit today.
