Stay Active at the Eden Prairie Community Center

There is so much to do in Eden Prairie (especially in the summertime) to keep you active. Besides the many trails and hikes, the Eden Prairie Community Center is one of the best activity options. At the center, you can workout in the fitness center, take a class, soak in a hot tub, enjoy laps around the pool, play pickleball or racquetball, and so much more.

Fitness Center

The Fitness Center features top-of-the-line cardio equipment, free weights, and resistance training equipment. If you’re not comfortable creating a workout routine of your own, take advantage of their personal training options to work one-on-one with a personal trainer to ensure proper form and get the results you want. If one-on-one is not for you, try one of their fitness classes that range from high-intensity workouts like BodyPump and Zumba to low-intensity stretches like Yoga.

Aquatics Center

An area of the fitness center for both adults and children, the Aquatics Center features two 8-lane pools with two diving boards, a climbing wall, a zero-depth recreational pool, a hot tub and water slide. Swimming is a low-impact, full-body workout that’s great for your endurance and cardiovascular fitness. If you’re not looking for a workout but something fun to do with the kids, there’s open swim time available for the whole family to enjoy.

Pickleball

Similar to tennis and badminton, this paddle sport is played with a whiffle ball on a badminton-sized court and tennis-style net. A non-volley zone prevents volleys close to the net, and the serving team cannot volley the return of serve. These unique rules favor players with less mobility and allow all ages to compete successfully against one another.

Racquetball

Another sport similar to tennis, mixed with handball or squash, racquetball is played in a court with a wall, two or four players, racquets and a ball. The goal of this game is to hit the ball before it takes a second bounce. Players will take turns hitting the ball against the wall. The goal is to make the other person miss. Racquetball is a fast paced sport that is relatively easy to play.

Prairie Play Zone

Perfect for a rainy day or just to get out of the house, the Prairie Play Zone is an indoor play structure for the kids to slide, climb, jump and crawl. Featuring several slides and a ton of fun, your child will definitely leave with a smile. For the tiny ones, there is a special area just for them and a mini rock climbing wall.

If you haven’t already, stop into the Eden Prairie Community Center to have a look around and see all the fantastic amenities they have to offer. We know you won’t be disappointed.
