Your Guide for Things to Do in Minneapolis in November

Ah, November! The season of spiced beers, lattes, cupcakes, and everything in between is in full swing, and wrappers from leftover Halloween candy are as ubiquitous as so many fallen leaves.Work off some of those mini-Twix and make room for your upcoming Thanksgiving feast by exploring some of these fun events in and around Minneapolis this month.

Or, keep a good thing going at the annual Fall Food and Wine Lovers Weekend, which runs from November 1st – 3rd. The event, which aims to draw fans of food and wine (so… pretty much everyone, right?), is set against the majestic backdrop of Lake Superior and will have delectable offerings from award-winning chefs and sommeliers.

At the other end of the spectrum, the Eden Prairie Indoor Triathlontakes place onSunday, November 3rd, at 9 AM. Even if you don’t plan on participating this time around, you can still come to root for and be inspired by your fellow community members.

If art is more your thing, come check out Art Attack 2019 on November 1st – 3rdat the historic Northrup King Building. Over 350 local artists will be conducting demonstrations on everything from oil painting to glass blowing. There will also be live music throughout the weekend, as well as food trucks offering coffee, pub fare, and food from local favorite Butcher Salt.

Embark on an adventure through your favorite fandoms, and maybe discover some new ones, at GalaxyCon Minneapolis, November 8 -10 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. With live events, artist demonstrations, panels, celebrity appearances, and more, there’s something for every fan to enjoy.

For a unique shopping experience, visit the Benilde-Saint Margaret’s Knightsbridge Boutique on November 16th. Inspired by London’s luxury shopping district, an exclusive roster of merchants will offer one-of-a-kind clothing, jewelry, home goods, and much more. The event also offers tea and snacks at the RoyalTea Café.

On November 17th, comedienne, Netflix star, web series legend, and Duluth native Maria Bamford visits the Ordway theatre with her unique brand of comedy that’s kept her a cult favorite for over twenty years. Last year’s show at the Ordway sold out, so get your tickets now!

Come take a walk through the three prehistoric periods at Jurassic Quest, America’s largest and most realistic dinosaur experience, when it visits the Minneapolis Convention Center from November 22nd – 24th.  This unique traveling event features 80 true-to-life size dinosaurs, each recreated in painstaking detail. Also, there are countless dinosaur-themed rides, mazes, activities, and even a petting zoo.

On Thanksgiving morning, you can give back before you give thanks (and make room for more turkey!) at the Walk to End Hunger at the Mall of America. Join over 5,000 others as you fight against hunger in your community. Every dollar raised goes to the organization of your choosing.

Get a jump on your Christmas spirit at the annual Christmas in the Fort on November 29that the Runestone Museum. This community favorite features holiday shopping, carolers, seasonal treats and drinks, and even a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Be sure to stay until dusk, when one lucky local student gets to flip the switch that lights up the entire downtown district with Christmas lights, officially marking the beginning of the season.
