Arff A Whirl at Art-A-Whirl 2019 at the Fair State Brewing Cooperative

Here in the Twin Cities, we have more than our fair share of wonderful dogs.  Celebrate our canine companions this weekend at the 2019 Arff a Whirl at Art-A-Whirl.  This Friday is the opening night of a weekend of canine-focused events in our gorgeous Minneapolis.  Have a beer and engage with dog-based crafts, activities, and more!  Come out and support the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association this weekend.  You’ll have a dog-gone great time!  For more information, visit the event’s website.

Resonance: A Sound Art Marathon at the Walker Art Center
Minneapolis, MN

Art isn’t just for the eyes, and this is especially true this Saturday at the Walker Art Center!  The art included in Resonance: A Sound Art Marathon is not only built of sculpture of uses music and sound.  Put together by an international group of artists—Tarek Atoui, Philip Blackburn, Jules Gimbrone, Walter Kitundu, Haroon Mirza, Matana Roberts, Christine Sun Kim, Craig Taborn, and Camille Norment—this exhibit seeks to explore the intersection between visual art and sound experiences.  Beginning at noon, artists will take turns performing their exhibitions.  For more information, including location and ticket prices, visit the Walker Art Center’s website.

Organ Celebration Weekend at the Colonial Church
Edina, MN

This Sunday at the historic Colonial Church in Edina, come on out for a celebration of the church’s newly rebuilt pipe organ.  Following a Sunday service of scripture, hymns, and choir anthems led by the choir director Katelyn Larson, organist Catherine Rodland will lead the Colonial Chorale through a repertoire of music designed to show off the new organ’s range.  Visit the Colonial Church’s website for further details.
